As entrepreneurs, it’s very important to share our level of expertise broadly with our audiences. Why? It exerts us as a subject matter expert in our space. It also builds trust. Think about it, if someone you never met or heard of asked you to buy their product, you might be reluctant. Now what if you heard them speak before or if you took a class with them and saw their level of expertise, would that reduce your reluctance? I presume it would.
So you might be asking, what is a good way that I can get my name out there and grow my business. How can I build trust with my target audience at a low barrier to entry for them? Here are a few solutions.
Host a webinar. Teach others about your products and why they need to purchase from you specifically. Education is a great way to serve as a subject matter expert. Remember to offer your audience something of value during the sign up process as a lead magnet to get their email address and have them register. During the webinar, give away some helpful tips but keep them wanting more so they will be more apt to buy and try.
Do a live! You can do live video on Facebook and Instagram. Let your audience see your face. Connect with them on not just a business level but on a personal level as well. Let them get insight into who you are. You have probably heard me say this before but 90% of people buy from a place of emotion. If they feel connected to you, your family, your cause or your message, they will be more inclined to purchase. A live video is a great way to connect.
Now, the real meat and potatoes of what I want to share with you is a class. Especially as a result of the pandemic, people are spending more time at home and looking for education or content to help better themselves in many aspects.
What are the benefits of creating an online class you might ask? Well for starters, you can exude your talent, skill and smarts. It’s exposure. Another benefit is… you can make money while you sleep. Record once and the content can be sold for an eternity. As long as the content remains relevant, new audiences can always access it.
Creating an online class expands your business. It adds one more product to your offerings. The more products you have that fit within the scope of your business, the more you can attract different audiences. Classes also help you connect to other audiences on a larger scale. With online recorded classes, you are not limited to a specific time where people can take advantage of your content. They can learn at their leisure and you can potentially expose audiences from all different locations to your content.
Online courses are a very cost effective way to get your message out there and create revenue. Basically, all you need is a camera, your course content and the star of the show, you! If you want to house your class on a class platform, my favorite is Kajabi but there are others like teachable and Thinkific.
